Ezekial 47
Wherever the river flows,
life will flourish.
Where the river flows,
life abounds.
About the R3 Pathway
Reoffending in the UK costs £18 billion a year to the taxpayer and the female prison reoffending costing £1.7 billion each year for repeat offenders. Female prison leavers reoffend often for prison is safer than being in society where they are pimped, trafficked and/or abused.
The R3 Pathway can be broken down into 3 key sections each integral to reduce reoffending. Click on the icons below to find out more.
In each section collaborating with specialists and charities to upskill, bring worth and restoration and create a faith network that will support prison leavers after their incarceration term. The R3 Pathway would work with the major female prison HMP Bronzefield to establish restorative justice programmes through sports and wellbeing activities, whilst upskilling local faith communities to mentor women whilst in prison and after.
The fundamental metric to decreasing reoffending is housing, by collaborating with leaders in the sector like the YMCA and local councils and finding appropriate faith land to create modular housing solutions that support female prison leavers is vital.
With the support of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Chief Rabbi we can build on the good relationships and networks within our communities and congregations to affect, rehabilitate and restore some of the most vulnerable people in society and hopefully encourage, empower and upskill them to do the same for others.
Projects like the One Women’s Centre in Gloucester and Jimmys Modular Housing have pioneered faith engagement in this sector, so building on those foundations is possible, sustainable and scalable.
